




















































































































Diephuis aka Barend-Jan Beljaars aka BJB has been born in Rotterdam. Recognizable by his striking love for Deep/Techy/Afro & Soulful House Music, dedicated to build an atmosphere in which his passion and love reveals itself, influences of disco, funk, soul, techno, afro, latin and jazz come to life.
His fascination for this kind of music started in the late 90’s. He started spinning at the age of 14 years. Inspired by dj’s like; The Masters At Work, Joaquin “Joe” Claussell, Kerri Chandler and later on Osunlade, Henrik Schwarz, Dennis Ferrer, Dixon & others he more and more developed a special interest for house orientated music.
Diephuis had the privilege to play in line-ups together with international dj/producers like Black Coffee, Louie & Anane Vega, David Morales, Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer, Kenny Dope, Osunlade, Dj Spen, DJ Spinna, Manoo, Boddhi Satva, Karizma, Atjazz, Mr V, Jephte Guillaume, Copyright, Dj Gregory, Tiger Stripes, Jamie Lewis, Simon Dunmore and many more! Diephuis played in a lot clubs in The Netherlands. Having been resident dj for over 2 years at the famous Looks parties Thalia Lounge & Crazy Sexy Cool (Maassilo & Powerzone) organised by Leroy Styles. Diephuis has been resident dj at Soulheaven Parties Stereo Sushi in Antwerp for 2 years, Club Hyper Hyper, Club Imax, Club Rotterdam, Harbour Club Rotterdam & Amsterdam & Scheveningen, Club Blender Rotterdam, Beach Club O Noorwijk, Club Dvars, De Tuin Rotterdam, Cafe In The City Amsterdam/Rotterdam, Oyster Club Amsterdam/Rotterdam and other places. Diephuis has been a regular at ADE (Amsterdam Dance Events). Diephuis played at Djoon Paris. 3 times at WMC Miami during The NULU Movement Parties and at the Golden Gate Club in Napels Italy. He played before Black Coffee during the opening party of ADE at the Butcher Social Club and the afterparty at Madfox Amsterdam in 2017. He played at the Bar Du Port in beautiful Saint-Tropez French, 2 times at Hookah Bar Vodice Kroatia, Tutu Tango Curacao, Ocean Beach Club Curacao, Pagayo Beach Curacao. Many times in Ibiza at KM5, The Sands, La Escollera and the famous Villa Parties.
Diephuis also plays on special business events/celebrations. He played at gala event in London for Shell. Did a show during the gala event of the 150 Years celebration of The Red Cross in Geneva. Played for Porsche Event in Eindhoven. Did a business event during the Classics Race on Zandvoort. Did play during the Rotterdam City Race (F1 showcase) on the Wilhelmina Bridge in Rotterdam. Did play for a KPN event in Artis Museum Amsterdam. Christmas Event at “The Winter Tuin – Oranje Hotels Noorwijk.” And many other events.
In 2008 Barend-Jan Beljaars started making music as Diephuis. In october 2009 he released his first E. P. called Deeproots on Label “Afrazoo.” His first international production featuring Soulful House Diva Stephanie Cooke and Han Litz on flute “Beautiful Life” was released by Kingstreet Sounds New York in 2011 and made it up to the top 10 best selling tracks on traxsource. Two Months later Hed Kandi picked up this track and compiled it on their Beach House 2011 Compilation CD.
In 2013 Louie Vega included “Beautiful Life” Manoo remix in his digital mix compilation for Kingstreet!!
In the beginning of 2012 Diephuis released his first vinyl release “Diephuis ft. Nathasja – Inside Me” on Future Jam Records. At the end of 2012 Diephuis remixed the one and only “Peven Everett – Black Boy” and was released on UDM Show Records. In 2013 Diephuis released his production “Listen To This Drum” featuring the very talented world poet Ursula Rucker, Serigne Queye on Djembe and Franklin Breeveld on Flute & Sax!” The production made it up to #5 Top 100 Soulful House Tracks downloads on Traxsource! This production has been picked up by Cajmere (Green Velvet) and played at his famous podcast and he lined it up in his top 10 Miami WMC 2013 on traxsource!! In 2013 Diephuis remixed tracks from Kenny Bobien & Marc Evans! Diephuis worked together with Jephté Guillaume on their track A Journey To Rotterdam, which has been released on vinyl by Joaquin “Joe” Claussell on his Sacred Rhythm Music music label!!
In 2015 Black Coffee compiled Diephuis – Crossing Borders (Manoo’s Refugee Remix) on his Mixmag CD Compilation and played the track in his sets for a long time. The track was played by many keyplayers in the game. The track was released as my first single on Nulu Electronic. The track was remixed by Manoo and that version was remixed by The Kings Of House (David Morales/Louie Vega/ Tony Humphries) and with additional vocals of Anane Vega on top and scored #1 in the Afro House Genre)
In 2016 Diephuis & Eastar scored their first #1 Souful House Top 100 on Traxsource with their single: “Diephuis & Eastar Featuring Jocelyn Brown – Don’t Quit (Be A Believer) which came out on Dj Spen’s Quantize Recordings.
In 2016 Diephuis & Angelos teamed up to work on their track “DAM” which was released on Nulu Electronic at the end of 2016 and made it to #1 Afro House Top 100 on Traxsource. The track was played by Black Coffee in Pacha Ibiza on the Solomun +1 Event.
In 2018 Diephuis scored together with Eastar their first #1 overall Single/Track/Genre Top 100 at Traxsource. Diephuis & Eastar – Hoye Mama which was the summer anthem of 2018 and released on Nulu Music by Anana Vega. Anana & Louie Vega did use the song for their club tour promotion in Ibiza and also rocked it during multiple clubnights, festivals and radio dj mixes. It was supported by many keyplayers like: “Masters At Work and Purple Disco Machine.
In 2020 Diephuis featuring Shea Soul – Don’t Speak was released on Quantize Recordings and the Deep Mix was supported by Defected as their Most Rated Record.
